In his words –
First and foremost, a ‘Sustainable Vietnam’ is the only way to create a future where everyone gets to enjoy the fruits of development. The kids of Vietnam, and other countries, are not going to have much of a world left if we keep emitting CO2 like today.
I have met people first hand in Vietnam that already are facing enormous hardships due to the changing climate. Farmers that lost everything to typhoons; or don’t know when to sow or harvest because the rains have become so erratic.
Listening and supporting them is our duty: they did not create the problem. They have a right to food, safety and sustainable development.
Smart and brave partnerships are absolutely vital to that.
