Schneider Electric on Sustainable Vietnam: Being Part of the Collective Responsibility

By Felicitas Huong, CSR Manager, Schneider Electric Vietnam –

I believe that for business to become sustainable the creation of an integrated shared value is crucial.

This would combine social aspirations, stakeholder expectations, including numerous global guidelines, codes and standards covering the social, ethical and environmental responsibilities of business – into a credible corporate response, without undermining the viability of the business.

And this is what I can clearly see at Schneider Electric.

Sustainability is our core business as we provide digital solutions for energy management and automation. Our sustainable strategy is integrated and applied across critical processes, such as governance and strategic planning, product/service development and delivery, and supply and customer chain management.

We strongly believe in collaboration.

In order to be innovative, we need to be open and partner with likeminded companies.  This is essential for us to become part of the solution to our global challenges, rather than being part of the problem (https://www.se.com/ww/en/partners/).

All social, environmental as well as economic challenges we are currently  facing are a clear indicator that we cannot keep going if we want to live in peace and prosperity. For me, the only way to live sustainably is to understand that every action and decision we take affects our future.

Every stakeholder big or small is part of the collective responsibility – it is not only for big corporates and governments to have an impact. We are all in it together, whatever our size or impact.

With that in mind, the next weeks, you will see some of Schneider Electric stakeholders share their personal impact on sustainability, partnerships and impact in Vietnam  – where their actions contribute to a more sustainable world.

I am delighted to be the first ‘stakeholder voice’ together with colleagues and partners, and share my story and impact in the next post.

Join us this month on Sustainable Vietnam.
