LIN Center for Community Development on Sustainable Vietnam: Inspiring Courage Through Partnerships

By Vũ Xuân Thành, Representative of Give.Asia Vietnam –

LIN Center for Community Development will be holding a series of articles in the run up to its LIN Annual Cross Sector Conference on 26-27 August, 2021. Event sponsor and fundraising platform GIVE.Asia and its Vietnam representative Mr. Vũ Xuân Thành talks on the strength of connections and building inclusivity to have a powerful impact on the community.

Let’s talk trust

Trust plays an important role in every sector, especially in community development projects. The resources for social impact do not only belong to corporations or individuals – it is the shared resource, which comes from many individuals and many organizations.

Keeping the Transparency,  Integrity and Professional as your project core values will help building trust from the beneficiaries, your partners, your donors, media press or even the governmental departments.

Once an individual or organization is trusted, it can definitely help more people mentally and physically, with its bigger resources.

Especially when we can connect and collaborate with other partners, together we can create a sustainable philanthropic ecosystem where our beneficiaries can be empowered to take control of their own lives.

Inspiring courage though long-term impact

“Long-term impact” means creating a safe environment and sustainable ecosystem for our beneficiaries, where they can be empowered to  take control of their own lives.

Moreover, it is important to ensure that our beneficiaries are inspired to have courage to share their experience with people of the same background.

Together they can become better, that is the long-term impact.

Exchanging values and perspectives

GIVE.asia is a fundraising platform based in Singapore. Up to now, we have been expanding our models to many countries (Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam).

In Vietnam, GIVE.asia’s main focus is on fundraising campaigns for in-need patients and working with NGO/NPO to raise funds for many underprivileged patients.

LIN’s Annual Cross-Sector Conference is well-known for being a unique space where leaders and local key influencers from all sectors (including corporates, nonprofits, community development organizations, philanthropists, media press, and government) can come to share their stories and exchange their knowledge.

Hence, GIVE.asia wants to accompany LIN on this journey to exchange values and perspectives that we have during our philanthropic journey in Vietnam, thus learning from and connecting with the strength of many individuals and organizations in Việt Nam.

Being inclusive

We take this chance to look at different perspectives to better adapt the needs of local people. We believe that every organization and individual have their own strength, capacity and target beneficiaries.

Therefore, the more resources we can utilize, the more inclusive our project will become, and better change will come to us as a result.

About the LIN Annual Cross-Sector Conference

LIN’s Annual Cross-Sector Conference is a first-of-its-kind and unique platform to build cross-sector partnerships for social impact. Every year, LIN brings leaders from different sectors together to share their partnership stories in creating social impact in Vietnam, promotes best practices and practical examples of building trust-based partnerships across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

In light of the complicated Covid-19 situation in Hanoi and HCM, we have decided to change the format of the Annual Cross-Sector Conference 2021 from a planned live conference to a 100% virtual conference.

On this year theme “Impact Beyond Boundaries”, we will focus on three key stages of the journey of a trust-based partnership and broken down our agenda into two half-day morning sessions as follows:

  • Day 1: 9:00 to 12:00, Thursday, 26th August 2021 – Vision & Engagement sessions
  • Day 2: 9:00 to 12:00, Friday, 27th August 2021 – Impact & Learning sessions (includes virtual networking).

You can also visit our Conference website to find out more information about the conference, our speakers and register for your ticket to attend the Conference – https://linvn.org/annual-cross-sector-conference-2021/.
